Flood Plains of BC and in particular, heavily populated Metro Vancouver, Bella Coola, Pemberton

This started out to be a Post about Kinder Morgan pipeline Washout Anomalies and then the thought process came around to Rivers overflowing their banks near a Rocky Mountain coal mine, or at least trying to wash away Man's endeavors to control Mother Nature's wrath (Climate Change).

Rusted area was Never Painted, Pitty

The plain truth though is that all it would take to throw a monkey wrench into the grand schemes of the BC Liberals economic wealth in our time would be for one those LNG tankers heading for, or away from, WesPac Tilbury LNG plant Turntable to punch a hole through a Richmond Dike.

  1. punching a hole in a dyke in Richmond, well that is sort of like the flood in Richmond of 1948. water will go up to No. 4 Rd. some roads like no. 3, 2, 1 will be higher but the rest, not so much. there are no ditches to drain away the water in most of Richmond, so it will look some what like High River did a few years ago. of course a lot of people aren't going to like having their mansions under water. Of course the queen of photo ops might declare it an act of god so insurance companies don't have to pay.

lots of B.C. is built on flood plain and the various levels of governments are not ready for any real mess or flood. the federal government won't be there, so we can only hope the people south of the border will be there to help. If not, this province will be so screwed because there is no money to repair or replace anything. people might want to consider a move to Alberta, more jobs, better health care. yes its cold in the winter, but it is better.
