China's Coronavirus: Canadian's Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig not mentioned in consular dispatches

Good to hear that 325 Canadians are being airlifted out of China because of their concerns for Coronavirus, but what of the fate of two fellow Canadians, Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig?

Is Prime Minister Trudeau asking questions of their well being, or have the two 'died already' because of China's Coronavirus?

"Canadian consular officials have made recent consular visits to the two men (Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig) and will continue to provide consular services to them and their families. Due to the provisions of the Privacy Act, no further information can be disclosed." CBC  May 16, 2019

they have most likely been dead for some time. The PMO and others are hoping we forget about them. The Cons may resurrect the show if they think they can get some political leverage out of it, if not, they don't care.

It needs to be understood, once you leave Canada anything can happen to you and there isn't much Canada can do for you or about the situation. Now in some countries you do have a better chance, of things being resolved, such as western Europe, perhaps in the U.S.A, Japan, Taiwan but the rest of the world, not so much.

Those who rant Trudeau, the government isn't doing enough, might want to consider they are the government, as in we the electorate. Didn't see any mass demonstrations in the streets or marches to the offices of China's political representatives. People are concerned about the 2 men, but only as far as it goes that it doesn't impact their personal pocket books. While the conservatives critize Trudeau for lack of action, if he took action such as no oil/tar to China until this is resolved you'd have all of Alberta and other Conservatives howling to the moon and back, he was destroying the country's economy for two men who we don't know whether they are spies or not.

China is too big to do anything about unless the country is willing to "suffer" the repercussions. Canada/Trudeau can demand the return of our citizens, but China can ignore us. They have 1.8 Billion people, we have 36 million. they have a massive armed forces. we know what ours is sized at.

My suggestion is, when you leave this country, for places like China, think about how you are going to get back if they arrest you. If you don't have an answer, stay home or go at your own peril.
