2005 and 2009 were elections years and we know what happened in 2009... the HST popped up out of nowhere.
2013???? will surely have it's own version of a double whammy if the BC Liberals get in for a fourth term.
What you have seen on Tuesday's introduction of Budget 2013/2014 by Finance Minister Mike De Jong, could turn out to be another one of those NOT ON MY RADAR skits.
As it is, the one possibility of the double whammy was due solely to the stupidity of Gordon Campbell calling for a mandated Election Call in May. If he had chosen the Fall, then the results of the Budget for the previous year would be seen for what it really was, a walk in the park or a flop in the park.

Fixed-election dates are inappropriate for our Westminster parliamentary system and and should be repealed. They make for secretive governments and lazy Oppositions. Every MLA should be ready to go at the drop of a hat.
