eg It is polite, and possibly also advantageous, to abide by the customs of a society when one is a visitor.Taking it to an old level, the Roman Colosseum days, the crowd determined whether Gladiators would live or die, with a gestured "Thumbs up, or Thumbs Down"
In light of OUR not having a Minority Government which would mean that Harper and his Conservatives wouldn't have won their majority via an alleged, not proven in Court, use of RoboCalls, and the other allegation of donations being made, and repaid for under a company bonus system to show support for a MP, and again not proven in Court, .......then, on this forthcoming Canada Day celebrations, citizens should add more "Rain on the Parade" by TURNING our BACKS to "our" majority elected Conservative MPs.
As my MP for North Vancouver goes rolling by in his convertible "chariot", my silent protest to the Conservative Government for cutting the Kitsilano Search and Rescue station will be he gets to see my BACK. My Thumbs DOWN answer, if I were asked, by the "Prime Minister" Dictator.
As my MP for North Vancouver goes rolling by, my silent protest to the Conservative Government for cutting scientists just when we need them the most, to protect our environment from the likes of Enbridge, will be, he gets to see my BACK. My Thumbs DOWN answer, if I were asked, by the "Prime Minister" Dictator.
As my MP for North Vancouver goes rolling by, my silent protest to the Conservative Government cutting EI and OAS and Retirement Age increasing from 65 and going up to 67, will be, he gets to see my BACK. My Thumbs DOWN answer, if I were asked, by the "Prime Minister" Dictator.
You see, our MP of North Vancouver, one Andrew Saxton, receives lots of emails, but answers very few. Canada Day Sunday 2012 is the one day that my MP, since his "election" in 2011, is where he will get to see his Constituents, even if briefly, on a wet soggy day in British Columbia.
Canada Day is where we stand, shoulder to shoulder, to celebrate what Canada is all about. Last year the Laws of how our democracy is protected, was attacked in the last election, it was a farce from the moment the Writ was dropped.
Bev Oda's $16 Orange juice drinking days, along with her up-changing to a MUCH more expensive hotel, and the limo, and the limo-drivers standing by... sure, its been covered in the Press, but Sunday will be our day to send the message home to our MPs, the Conservative ones.

Great post!
You have my back and thumbs down also for these politicians that get the power (ill earned), the payola, the pension and the parades all while not listening to the people they re supposed to be serving. They have no shame.
You couldn't have said it better Grumps.
I am losing my pride in, being proud to be Canadian. I am losing my Democracy, my Civil rights and Liberties and losing my Human Rights.
I see nothing to celebrate. Canada has become a deep abyss of corruption, because of Harper. He has destroyed our once good and decent country's name.
Harper is going to celebrate, July 4th, with America. However, no-one seems to know if Harper is going to celebrate Canada Day. He could change it to Harper Day. That's what Hitler would have done.
Both Layton and Ignatieff, could walk among the crowd and relate to the people, Harper dares not do the same, and he knows it. His security bill was $47 million. We can now expect that to double. The more Harper is despised, the higher his security is. He must really have a huge ego, to think he is worth that much. The people sure in the hell don't think he is worth a thin dime.
