Vancouver Sun Westcoast News on Fish, and now there's CHEK TV too, indirectly

All in one day, three reports of Westcoast News importance, that seem to imply that there are three instances of something being fishy...... in relation to Fish Farms.  Its not clear whether there are three, or Two, because there have been two articles written by one reporter for one news media (Vancouver Sun) and one article written by one reporter for a different news media (Victoria Times Colonist), but all published in the Vancouver Sun.

Is the first article a filler, or is the third one, with more detailed information, a johnny-come-lately?

In the case of the first there is to be 500,000 slaughtered + another 570,000 in the third report..... does that then mean the first one can't count, or..... it there going to be     1,070,000  killed altogether.

Farm to euthanize 570,000 salmon

By Judith Lavoie (Victoria Times Colonist)

A Clayoquot Sound salmon farm is under a quarantine order and 570,000 salmon are being euthanized following confirmation of a fatal virus.

Infectious hematopietic  necrosis virus was found in Atlantic salmon on Mainstream Canada Dixon Bay farm and "depopulation" and quarantine started before the order was made by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.   Snip

Mainstream Canada Dixon Bay Farm has this to say about fish health:

Ensuring fish health

Farmed salmon typically have a survival rate of 90-95% compared to wild salmon which have 2-3%.

Quarantine violation puts farms and jobs at risk

Fri, 2012-05-18
The quarantine around our Dixon Bay farm was deliberately broken today by Tofino filmmaker and anti-salmon farming activist Warren Rudd, who was collecting video footage on behalf of CHEK TV.
This deliberate violation of quarantine puts farmed salmon at other sites at risk. The actions of the activist and Tofino Water Taxi, which transported him, are now being investigated by the RCMP and by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).  Snip
