Oh, No. Not another one of those little half truths, half baked ideas from Rich Coleman

Coleman has been telling the public that he wants to save money by selling off the Liquor Distribution Branch to a Third Party..... and when questioned on the WHYs of his little scheme he hasn't been absolutely truthful.

He has said that the value of the land is $30 million.

Of course, you and I, who know where the Liquor Distribution Branch is, assume that its those two buildings, bounded by Rupert and East Broadway and the Railway line..... C N Railway line.

Not quite.

According to the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, where they list off all of their assets...... for

Any property that has a SkyTrain Station attached to it, is a Gold Mine just waiting to be developed and what does Coleman want to do...... it sounds like another one of those Boss deals that he struck on the Court House steps.   It appears that the only reason that the Minister wants to sell the Liquor Distribution Branch, other than the BC NDP's theory which might be true, is that to recover the lost $30,000,000 that he squandered on Uranium mining stoppage... thanks to a bungling Kevin Krueger, Mining Minister,  Coleman is willing to SELL the property!

The Public, British Columbians, really don't have a handle of where OUR property is around North America, other than those that are hired to "look after it", until the phone rings from Victoria (or China), and someone says  "SELL, SELL, SELL"

The SkyTrain Station is in the bottom right hand corner of this Screen Shot, just north of the railway. East Broadway is along the top of the photo; Nootka is to the left; Rupert is to the right!  That takes care of the Liquor Distribution Branch.

The property listed in the BC Investment Management Portfolio is the property directly adjacent to the Liquor Distribution Branch...... therefore Coleman may be correct when he says its worth $30,000,000 but he should be throwing in for good measure another chunk of property, that which hasn't been developed and the three high rise towers on East Broadway too!

East Broadway and Renfrew, down to the Railway tracks (aka as Hebb) and Nootka to Hebb

These TWO properties have TWO SkyTrain Stations!!!!!

that certainly is educational. No wonder Coleman wants to sell this land, if one of his buddies is going to purchase it.

Given the value & location of this land the provincial government should be keeping it in their portfolio for future needs. The $30M we may or may not gain will be peanuts compared to what the land will be worth in the future, like 50 yrs. or more from now.

All land the government owns in B.C. should be kept. We may need it for housing, hospitals, government offices, or even parks.

We as citizens, & owners of this land, need to keep a close eye on the attempts to sell this land to anyone.

Who owns the property in between Nootka and Lilloett bounded by East Broadway and Hebb (railway line)?

Is it someone who's name has been bandied about by the BC NDP during Question Period? Or the company that he is lobbying for?

This is interesting NVG, around these parts (the Kootenays) most of the BCLB outlets I'm familiar with are leased from private land/building owners!

Real Estate was certainly a big factor in the BC Rail theft, and Gordo the Capo cut his teeth alienating railroad grant land given to CP during his apprenticeship with Marathon Realty and had the scam figured out by the time he could steal the Railroad that W.A.C. put together.

What's truly interesting Kootcoot is that so far I haven't found a list of BCLB property throughout the Province.... just like you say about your territory.

There has to be another list of properties, but the current one offered up by the BCIM begs the question: Has the BC Liberals been getting fair value from those that are renting the spaces..... Has the Auditor General done a tally on that one topic?
