UPDATE: June 26, 2012 There's been more than enough interest in this Post.  Will the BBC have to offer a, .....an .... incentive.....?  There must be a photo of CC smoking, lately?

In all the years that Christy Clark has had herself photographed, by the Press, never, and I mean NEVER, has anyone caught her smoking  a cigarette?  She's admitting to having smoked for 17 years.  She's 46 now; could have started at age 29 or earlier.  Did she start smoking to deal with the stress of attending three colleges?     She says that she "recently" kicked the smoking habit.  Gone cold turkey in three days!

She certainly wouldn't have been a smoker during her pregnancy in preparation for having her "off-spring".

If she stopped smoking "recently" it could mean that she was a smoker up to and during her radio talk show days, out of sight, out of mind of her listeners.   Was it the moment that Gordon Muir Campbell announced his resignation that inspired her to go with the idea that SHE could be the next premier?  Was it then that spawned the thought she would, if she could, go Cold Turkey?

Premier quick to stub out idea to raise MSP premiums for smokers

Instead, she said higher taxes on cigarettes would be a better option to raise more cash from smokers

On Thursday de Jong said the province might institute a surcharge on MSP premiums for people who smoke. He raised the idea during meetings with delegates to the Union of B.C. Municipalities convention in Vancouver.
But less than 24 hours later Clark, who recently kicked the smoking habit after 17 years, said it would be dangerous for government to try to regulate people's behaviour through medical premiums. -  SNIP

Good for you Christy!

I guess the public may now look forward to another one of your poster campaigns....

But the question remains, more flip flopping on your part, or a bold statement, twenty-four hours after de Jong's suggestion of increasing MSP premiums for smokers only to have you pipe up and say NO, raising taxes on cigarettes is better!  Was it planned all along?   Tough guy, Weak guy!

Its been pointed out in the press, via a Letter to the Editor, that the government, any government in BC, should know that the people were able to reverse the charges on the HST, and with that idea in mind, the same is being bandied about on the Smart Meters introduction.    All the safeguards that were put in place to ensure that the public is protected from politicians like Gordon Campbell, and a Crown Corporation like BC Hydro, just so that the Smart Meter can be put in place, during a RECESSION, at the expense of the taxpayer, its got to be the dumbest move continued by Christy!.

...... just how many smokers in BC, are there?   More smokers than non-smokers?  Another class division war-fare?

NVG just want to thank you for all your sleuth reporting posted here at the BBC.

Always a very interesting and informative read and antidote to the mostly lame spin of the MSM's investigative so called reporting. You have a refreshing and unique take on what is happening in BC politics. Your data searches and commentary really compliment the online blogs of Laila L., Norm F., Harvey O., Ross K., Raif M., Grant G., Alex T.,and many more.

Much appreciated.
